Away from the hullabaloo of city life and yet not very far from Kolkata and Burdwan, inspired by the vision and ideals of Swami Paramananda, Paltagarh Maramia Spiritual Society is very conveniently located at Paltagarh, Singur, Hooghly; easily connected by both road and rail. It's a wonderful place for a spiritual seeker that not only transforms his outlook towards life but also teaches him to fall in love with life itself. 'Maramia' is one who feels with the heart. It's a retreat that is built with love, devotion and friendship. The Dhyan ghar (Meditation room) is notable for its special Vedic architecture. Here 'rituals' are not merely some formal customs but a conscious journey to rediscover our glorious cultural heritage. Paltagarh Maramia Spiritual Society offers spiritual discussions, reading and reflection, free yog classes, education and medical services among the villagers, devotees and well wishers. The centre also celebrates annually its foundation day on 27th November which also happens to be the day when Swami Paramananda passed away in 1999.
